Over the past years, the Hong Kong Aviation Club (HKAC) has been strongly committed in promoting aviation education and culture to Hong Kong. The “Young Eagles program” began in 1980’s, has since introduced the idea and air experience (fixed wing and rotorcraft) to thousands of youngsters and under-privileged groups in Hong Kong. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of Hong Kong Aviation Club member volunteers. Each Young Eagle Flight is an opportunity to excite youth by sharing a passion for flight and to show them that they, too, can learn the skills to participate in aviation. These flights have been extended to both the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps and the Air Scout Groups of Scout Association of Hong Kong.
This simple idea of offering flying opportunities to the public and access to General Aviation facilities has been well received for more than 20 years with the continuous support from our member pilots. To further expand our scope in order to benefit more people in Hong Kong, “the Hong Kong Aviation Club Foundation”(HKACF), a registered charity under section 88 of Inland Revenue Ordinance of Hong Kong, was then incorporated on 24th September 2007 to make our charity services more readily available to the public. The HKACF is a subsidiary of HKAC and its operation relies on donations and sponsorship from various sectors of the local community. (Donation Form Download)
The Hong Kong Aviation club’s club house at Kai Tak is a perfect venue to introduce General Aviation to the local community, in particular to primary and secondary students. Courtesy tours by appointment for all ages to aviation facilities and aircraft guided by professional staff are available throughout the year. If your organization / school is interested in visiting the aviation facilities of the Hong Kong Aviation Club, please call the Programme Officer of the Foundation at 2712-4883 for further details.
